Prior to the 1999 JASDF Combat Skills Competition, 301SQ conducted preliminary training with three Faker-painted aircraft (No. 305, No. 329, No. 402).

This is Faker-painted aircraft No. 329, which conducts standard training with a missile target attached under the fuselage.

This is the 301st SQ's F4EJ Kai, No. 329, photographed at Nyutabaru Air Base on May 23, 2000. Ahead of the JASDF Combat Skills Competition in June 2000, two F4EJ Kai aircraft from the 301st SQ were painted faker (enemy) paint for training purposes.
