This aircraft was a ramjet, first launched from a Languedoc transport aircraft in powered flight on 21st April 1949. It demonstrated a phenomenal rate of climb and was tested until 1953. There appears to be no forward vision and they must have been incredibly difficult to land. The Leduc 016 was developed with wingtip mounted engines but it was unstable and tests were quickly discontinued. In total three of these types were built with two being destroyed in non-fatal accidents
Registration / Serial:01
Aircraft Version:Leduc 010
