Originally delivered to the USAF as T-28A 50-0273 in July 1951 it was civilianised as N7617C in 1963, but bought back by the USAF in 1967 and re-manufactured by NAA as a T-28D for the US Military Aid Program, passing to the Royal Lao Air Force as 0-00273. In 1988 its derelict remains were recovered from Xiang Khoang, Laos, trucked overland to Bangkok and shipped to Australia where it was registered VH-XVT. In September 2011 it was exported to South Africa as ZU-FOY. (With thanks to warbirdregistry.org and goodall.com.au).
