The State Aircraft Factory built a prototype of Sääski II and the maiden flight of it was February 22nd, 1929. After that, the State Aircraft Factory built four more Sääski IIs. One of them was ordered by the Finnish Customs. It delivered the aircraft to the Merivartiolaitos (Maritime Guard) on August 14th, 1930. The aircraft was used in air surveillance duties until 1933, and is seen here with the early Coast Guard Office emblem on the fuselage. The aircraft is on the show of the Maritime Centre Vellamo. The aircraft is restored. Photo by: Pietinen / Finnish Heritage Agency
