The Bell 429 was certified in 2009 and since then around 500 of these multi-mission helicopters have been put into service. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office operate four along with a number of B407s

This new Bell 429 was built at the Bell factory in Mirabel. Quebec and registered C-FKXR on June 16, 2015. It was retained by Bell at Mirabel and used to support flight test activities with "Sauvetage" (Rescue) titles applied to the side of the cabin. It was exported to the US in September 2016 as N158DB and flown to Bell's facility in Piney Flats, TN for completion as a law enforcement aircraft for the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office in Florida. It was delivered to the Sheriffs Department in a green and white colour scheme in May 2017 and is based at KPBI.
