American registered Cessna 150s were a rare sight in Australia in the 1960s, with Rex Aviation the sole distributor for new Cessnas in Australia. The singles arrived in crates and unregistered. VH-SAX was one of the small batch of current and late model 150s imported in defiance of the monopoly. -SAX became VH-BNB in 1966.

Ex VH-SAX, VH-BNB was registered in 1966. In 2016 the registration was revoked by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority because of a lack of up-to-date paperwork.
