The Breguet 27 and Br 33 observation types had an unaerodynamic thin tailboom to ensure a good rear view for the observer/gunner. Unlike the Br 27, the Br 33 was not built in series but, although not intended as long-range aircraft, both Br 330 prototypes made flights to Asia. Paul Codos and Henri Robida flew F-AKEZ from Paris to Hanoi in seven days, and back in just three days. F-AKFM, redesignated as a Br 27S, was taken on a 35,000 km round trip by Maryse Hilsz.
