After landing on the rather choppy waters of Red Lake, turning back toward the town to dock at its Howey Bay base. Built in 1944 for the USAAF as 44-70731. Previously NC58690, imported to Canada in 1957 and became CF-KAO. Registered to Chimo Air Service, Red Lake, Ontario in 1994.

Seen at its Howey Bay base, the Chimo Air Service docks in the centre of Red Lake. Three Norsemen can be seen in this shot. In addition to CF-KAO, on the right is the tail of CF-JIN, also of Chimo Air Service. Above it is a glimpse of the yellow and red CF-DRD, which is displayed on a pole in support of the town of Red Lake, which is the self-styled " Norseman Capital of the World" and the host of annual Norseman Festivals for around 30 years now.
