This PBY operated as a fire bomber in 1962. Later it became N101CS with the Cousteau Society Inc in Los Angeles. In June 1979 it crashed and broke up during a high speed run on the water piloted by Phillipe Cousteau who was at the controls. Unfortunately he did not survive.
