On display at Parco Tematico dell'Aviazione. This Bundesluftwaffe Type 69 formerly wore LSK code '231.' The MiG-21 was the most numerous fighter in the NVA-LSK, which flew all the major variants. The UM incorporated all the features of the MiG-21US, plus it had the powerful R-13-300 turbojet. The first MiG-21 trainer was delivered in April 1965 to JAG 15 at Rothenurg-Oberlausitz that became Fliegerausbildungsgeschwader 15 (FAG 15) "Heinz Kapelle." The trainer versions were also used by JGs 1 "Fritz Schmenkel," 3 "Wladimir Komarow," 7 "Wilhelm Pieck," 8 "Hermann Matern"and 9 "Heinrich Rau."
