This Transall is used as an instructional airframe at Wunstorf. Serial painted "LX X" is the Luftwaffe serial in Roman numerals.

This aircraft had been in use as a ground instructional airframe at Wunstorf since 2014. In 2023 it was towed to the edge of the airfield to make room for additional aircraft that were deployed here for exercise Air Defender 2023. Rumour has it that the aircraft will be scrapped soon. This is former 50+60, indicated by Roman numbers L (= 50) and LX (= 60).

Withdrawn from active duty in May 2014 and used for instruction/preserved since then in various spots at this base. Towed to the far southeast corner of the field to make way on the main apron for exercise Air Defender 2023 traffic. It took a while before my penny dropped but of course, L-LX is Latin for its former serial 50-60.
