A general PMI's North apron overview that unfortunately won't be possible anymore. On September 28th, 2004 the old ATC tower was demolished 44 years after its construction in 1960, in order to allow the handling of forthcoming traffic to the then new Mallorca airport: Son Sant Joan. It was written from its original use in 1987 and lately it only was giving shelter to some communications equipment and small offices for several airport services. It was also an excellent watchtower to photograph traffic.
This was one of the first 757-300 and was at Glasgow for three days, flight testing and doing over twenty touch and gos. The aircraft was in full Condor colours but still carried a US registration. It was delivered to Condor shortly afterwards as D-ABOB.
