Aircraft built by Fred Thaheld for William Tremaine who intended to fly to Japan non-stop. Junkers-inspired but with braced wing. Forward visiblity over fuel tank through periscope as in Ryan NYP. Entered for Dole Air Race but crashed en route to the start in Oakland, killing pilot and navigator. Named Spirit of John Rodgers. N number, possibly 1239, not worn.
