Built in 1957 and imported in 1959 ex N2512C. Before Cessna developed the Model 172, an engineering company called Met-Co-Aire of Fullerton/CA came up with this after-market tricycle gear modification for the 170. Note how much farther forward the landing gear is positioned compared to the 172. Eventually it was de-modified back to taildragger as here where you can see the blanking plate covering the old main gear location.
