In 1981 German air force 5067 was taken on change by MBB/VFW as a company demonstrator. D-AMBA demonstrated the C-160 on the 1981 Salon at Le Bourget and from late 1981 to early 1983 the aircraft flew as PK-PTC with Pelita Air Services in Indonesia. In 1983 it was returned to the Luftwaffe and became 5067 again.
