This ill-fated 757 crashed into sea after take off from Puerto Plata on February 6, 1996. All 189 people (mostly German tourists) on board lost their lives. After more than two weeks on the ground the pilot's and first officer's instruments indicated different speed and altitude readings, and the crew lost control over the aircraft when it stalled.
