A striped tailfin began to appear on KLM aircraft from late 1958. PH-DSF was one of the first, with the fuselage still unchanged. The diagonal stripes were changed to horizontal, with the KLM logo in the white 'globe' changing from red to blue, from circa 1963, but aircraft wearing the earlier stripes were not quickly repainted. PH-CGF entered service as PH-TGF in 1952 and served until 1964. To N4406 of Mohawk, of which we have a picture. Familiar to many European spotters as CV-580 LN-BWN in the 1980s. Last reg ZK-KFJ. Sold for scrap in 2017. Photo from: Nationaal Archief (Netherlands)
