This is the former K-3071 that was converted to ground instructional airframe after its crash on 2 October 1973. The letters NAC indicate "Nico's Aircraft Corporation" after the two technicians who restored the aircraft and who apparently both had Nico has their first name. The aircraft was scrapped in 1998. This photo was taken one day after K-3071 suffered a mishap at Gilze-Rijen Air Base. A tire burst upon take-off which caused the aircraft the overrun the runway and end up in a field. The aircraft was written off and subsequently used as a GIA at Gilze-Rijen carrying the fake serial "NAC-7". The remains were scrapped in 1998.

K-3071 seen here shortly after delivery to 316 Sqn at Gilze-Rijen in 1972, carrying the old style 316 Sqn badge. One year later, on 2 October 1973, the aircraft crashed in a field just off Gilze-Rijen's runway 10 after a tire had burst upon take off.

A Dutch NF-5A which was rarely seen! K-3071 was delivered to the Royal Netherlands Air Force on 20 Mar 1972. It overran the runway at homebase Gilze Rijen after a blow-out tyre on 2 Oct 1973. The aircraft came to a rest in a meadow and was later assessed as Damaged beyond economical repair. Two technicians, both named Nico, refurbished the NF-5A into an instructional airframe and rebaptized it into NAC-7 (Nico's Aircraft Corporation - 7). Number seven was their lucky number. After service, NAC-7 was transported to Woensdrecht and eventually scrapped at Den Dolder in Apr 1998.
