In 2015, Swiss Air Ambulance provider REGA had ordered 3 AW169 for all weather operations, including patient transfers accross the Alps at night and in iceing conditions. For this reason, Agusta developped an anti-icing device for the AW169 which did not bring the desired results. Hence, REGA cancelled the contract, leaving HB-ZQZ pictured here the first and so far only AW169 registered in Switzerland. Built in 2015, it was operated by SwiftCopters and later Karen for VIP's between January 2020 and April 2024, before being sold as D-HHBHG to a private owner in Germany.
