The buildings behind the Lichtenstein owned Skyknight were put up by the Luftwaffe after 1940 when they established Fliegerhorst Melsbroek. Amazingly those wooden structures, plus the intact-looking control tower, were still standing 30 years later. Judging by Google Earth, they have since been replaced by a cargo complex.
