On 4th July 2008, during initial climb out from the aircraft's base at Upfield Farm Airstrip, Gwent, the engine suffered a loss of power and in the subsequent forced landing the aircraft hit a tree before impacting the ground. The pilot and passenger were uninjured but the aircraft was destroyed by fire. The registration was formally cancelled on 7th January 2009. (With thanks to the AAIB report).
