FAD-3707 was one of eight OA-37Bs delivered to the Dominican Republic. When this picture was taken, plans existed to make this aircraft airworthy again, however this never became a reality. By July 2017, FAD-3707 had been suppplied to Colombia, where the job was finished and it flew again, until final retirement of the type in Colombia in 2020!

The Luftwaffe Jagdgeschwader 72 (JG72) "Westfalen" was stationed at Hopsten Air Base. Originally, the unit was put into service as Jagdbombergeschwader 36 (JBG36) but they transitioned into a fighter squadron from 1991. After the decommissioning on 31 January 2002, the 2nd Staffel of JG72 continued until mid-2006 as the Fluglehrzentrum F-4F (FLZ, F-4F) or F-4F flight training center, the JG72 patch on the intake continued.

The Fuerza Aérea Dominicana once operated with eight Cessna OA-37Bs Dragonflies. Through the years, three were written off (3704, 05 and 06). All Dragonflies were retired in the early zeros after serving Escuadron de Combate only from Aug 97 onwards. After retirement, two were earmarked for sale to Colombia but were probably never transferred. In Nov 11, five OA-37Bs were seen in storage (3701, 02, 03, 07 and 08) while the sixth one (3705) was seen preserved at the main gate. Number seven (3704) was seen at the dump at San Isidro, while the eighth Dragonfly was totally destroyed in a crash.
