As the Swedish Navy retired its lighter HKP 1s (Vertol 44) the need for more capable helicopters grew. Therefore, seven Kavasaki-Vertol 107s were ordered through the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) in May 1971. The order had to be made with Kawasaki Heavy Industries as Boeing Helicopters had cancelled its production in 1971. This particular helicopter was delivered to the Swedish Navy in November 1973 and retired in 2008 with a total time of 7638 h. It was transported to Aeroseum in June 2013.

On 27 November 1973, this helicopter was delivered to the Swedish navy. With the amalgamation of Swedish helicopters in one unified command, it went to the Defence Force's Helikopterflottilj in 1998. In 2008, this helicopter was retired and by June 2013, it had appeared in the excellent Aeroseum.
