This aircraft made a low approach at RAF Wyton before landing at nearby RAF Alconbury.

This was unusual in that a flying display was given by this TR-1

When doing some research about this U-2, I was astonished to find I'd seen the very same aircraft just two days before as it is the one suspended in the American Air Museum at Duxford. Now painted in the standard black, the white colours here can be attributed to the fact that the 9th SRW were flying it as a crew trainer. Note the double cockpit (which has now been modified back to single to represent the standard spyplane)

The official press realease stated that they were involved in a "high altitude sampling program"
