Departing during a rainy morning on a ferry flight directly from Quito to Casablanca after delivering 2.5 million covid-19 vaccines that were a donation of the chinese government. This was the second time Royal Air Maroc was at Ecuador, the first time a B789 came at night for the same motive. This time, a B788 came, with light and wearing the OneWorld livery. A "must see" that was on my list. This Fairchild of the defunct Austro Aéreo resting since 2003 in this parking lot next to the Mariscal La Mar Airport in Cuenca. As we can read in the green label, it has been confiscated by the IESS (Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security) due to a coercive trial. Behind you can see the tail of Tame HC-COX which is stored at the airport after it crashed there in 2016.

One of the 5 Texan that remained in Ecuador. With a little research I've found out that there were two of these T-6 at Salinas until 2009 more or less. Other one was inside the Colegio Técnico Aeronaútico Coronel Maya very close to the old airport, with fake reg HC-TCA but it disappeared in 2018. The two other remaining are this one in the pic and another one inside the Museum of the Ecuadorian air force. This T-6 was recently restored for the 100th anniversary of our air force.

Preserved in a Ecuadorian Air Force Airmen Club South of Quito, in San Rafael. I was finally able to catch it after several unsuccessful attempts during my visits to BAE 15 Paquisha "La Balbina" which is 10 min by car from there. With the same registration as a crashed Dhruv, this strange silver T-33 spends its days on the club's parking lot. In the background you can see a FAE Airbus H145 registered as (FAE-1251) arriving at "La Balbina" after a flight to the Atuntaqui region due to certain social and political protests.
