The RAN received 11 Sycamores from the end of 1952, three Mk.50s and then the Mk. 51s delivered in 1953/4, 1959 and 1961. This one was first flown as G-AMWJ in 1953 and served with 723 and 724 Sqdn. It became the last of the type in RAN service and was flown to HMAS Nirimba for ground instructional use in July 1965, moving on for preservation at Nowra in 1977
