It was badly weathered already and the aircraft later received the grey camouflage jacket. In 2023 this Phantom was still active with the Greek Air Force, facing retirement, after over 50 years of service, in the near future

This RF-4E made its first flight as 69-7493 on 28 April 1971. It was delivered to the Luftwaffe as 35+46 on 13 July 1971. It served AG51 up to April 1991. The recce Phantom was sold to Greece for spare recovery in July 1992 and flown over the Larissa later that year. The RF-4E became 7493 in Greek invenory but possibly never flew again. It is seen here outside its shelter when the Greek Air Force still had to decide what to to with the airframe. It was eventually slowly dismantled later on. This is former USAF 65-10569 which was delivered to the Royal Norwegian Air Force as 569 on 1 September 1972. It was sold to Greece and flown from Sola (Norway) via Aviano air base (Italy) on 26 August. It continued its flight to Larissa on 29 August 1986. It was assigned to 349 MIA (as pictured). The Freedom Fighter was stored at Larissa from December 1993 so here it was seen in its final months of its operational life. The F-5A was dumped in the south east corner of the base but luckily saved for the local museum from November 2006.

This is former USAF 65-10569 which was delivered to the Royal Norwegian Air Force as 569 on 1 September 1972. It was sold to Greece and flown from Sola (Norway) via Aviano air base (Italy) on 26 August. It continued its flight to Larissa on 29 August 1986. It was assigned to 349 MIA (as pictured). The Freedom Fighter was stored at Larissa from December 1993 so here it was seen in its final months of its operational life. The F-5A was dumped in the south east corner of the base but luckily saved for the local museum from November 2006.
