Delivered new to the Indian AF in 1957 as IM-1713 and one of two Otters donated by India to the fledgling Bangladesh Defence Force Air Wing in May 1973. Retired in 1977, allocated for preservation and stored for many years on the base at Tejgaon pending the creation of the Air Force Museum. The museum moved to a new location adjacent to the base in 2013.

At 63 years, 59-1537 might well be one of the oldest C-130s still flying? A welcome and rare visitor to Glasgow today. It arrived from Rome and headed to Keflavik after taking on some fuel. The large sticker on the tail is to celebrate on the occasion of the centennial birth anniversary of the founding leader of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
