Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 134) operated the F-4S Phantom II from 1983 until 1988 when it received its successor, the F/A-18A. The squadron was designated a cadre status vice decommission in August 2007 while operating the F/A-18A Hornet.

Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 214 "Black Sheep" started to operate with the A-4B Skyhawk in January 1962. This began a 27 year association between the Black Sheep and follow-on versions of the Skyhawk. In June 1989, the Black Sheep became the first operational squadron of AV-8B Night Attack Harrier IIs. This A-4M sits on the platform of VMA-211 at MCAS El Toro (CA).

1987 marked the final year of Skyhawks within Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 311 Tomcats. The squadron started to operated the Skyhawk in 1958 (A4D-2, later designated A-4B) and flew subsequently A-4E's and the final Skyhawk variant, the A-4M. This A-4M was pictured at homebase MCAS El Toro (CA). The squadron transitioned to AV-8B Harrier II in 1988 and in the near future it will swap to F-35B Lightning II.

Loaded with exercise dumb bombs, this beautiful Skyhawk resides on the Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 214 "Black Sheep" ramp of MCAS El Toro (CA).

The US Marine Corps operated with many CH-46 Sea Knights. This one was pictured at the now closed MCAS El Toro (CA) air base while in service with the Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron (HMM) 764 Moonlight, a USMC Reserve squadron.
