First flown in 1943 as the SO.90 Cassiopée, the Corse was a small airliner which saw limited service with the French air force and navy. The only civilian operator was apparently Air Services of India. On the right is the Sud-Ouest M.2 jet, F-WFDK. Top right, Morane-Saulnier MS.701 light twin F-WFDE, MS.474 Vanneau No 82 and an MS.733 Alcyon, F-BLYE. The glider towards the left is a Breguet Br 900 Louisette, F-WEPE. The NC.853 was powered by a Minié 4DC.30 engine. This was troublesome and this airframe was eventually converted to NC.858 standard with a Continental C90. The airliner on the right is SO.95 Corse F-BBIG. On the left is MS.474 Vanneau advanced trainer No 82 ; in the centre behind the Corse's wing, the Sud-Ouest M.2 experimental jet, F-WFDK; and on the right, SO.6020 Espadon No 02. The helicopter is a Sud-Est SE.3110 and behind the upright Breguet Deux-Ponts wing is a mock-up of the SE.2410 Grognard. Photo from: Nationaal Archief (Netherlands)

Powered by Jumo diesel engines. Briefly used by Lufthansa in 1935, then to DVS school. Supposedly sold to Syndicato Condor, but aircraft was in Germany in 1944. Junkers claimed the diesels reduced hourly fuel consumption from 700 lb to 440 lb. However, the empty weight of the aircraft was no less than 789 kg (1739 lb) higher. The floats fitted here added another 544 kg (1200 lb). Also seen here at the 1934 Paris Air Show are Fieseler Fi 97 D-IPUS and Hawker 'Indermediate' Fury G-ABSE. Photo from: Narodowe Archiwum Cyfrowe

The Paris Air Show used to be held indoors. The participation of the Nederlandsche Vliegtuigenfabriek, better known as Fokker, in the 1921 event was very unpopular among the French public. This did not stop Anthony Fokker from displaying the glider on the left, said to have been designed in Germany as a flying bomb, to be towed by a D.VII. This is unconfirmed, however. Note the model plane on top of the glider. Although painted in full KLM colours, the F.III here never flew for KLM. It was handed over to the Hungarian airline, Malért, here in Paris. H-NABA was alphabetically the first entry in the Netherlands register, but CoR number 23. Photo from: Amsterdam City Archives
