To my surprise unescorted ramp access was granted simply by asking. This was part of the flight line with four DC-8s, a Convair 640 and two DC-6s visible. The second DC-8 belongs to Rosenbulm Aviation, the fourth DC-8 is a -61 (ex Air Canada), the others are Zantop International aircraft.

Leaving sunny Ilocos Norte behind us as we walk towards our aircraft, bound for Hong Kong again (via Manila). Laoag is a relatively small regional airport all the way up in the North West part of the Philippines. Scheduled traffic consists of a few A320's/ATR's of Philippine Airline and Cebu Pacific, but while waiting in the departure hall I also saw a private Phenom 100. The arrivals hall is just to the left of the "Laoag International" sign, with the departure side on the right (outside of the frame).

It was an absolute amazing experience to fly in this 1929 Ford Tri-Motor. The whole Airventure experience is already overwhelming for a first-timer, but hearing that you will fly in this machine... Wow! I quickly secured a seat for the short sightseeing flight and this was the view I was treated to just after departure. Aircraft as far as the eye can see! The flight also took us over the seaplane base, which was a nice sight as well.

This view is taken as our Scenic Airways Twin Otter flight banks steeply over the airport. This shows the large numbers of light aircraft hangars. The control tower and compass checking area can be seen. At 11 0'clock from the control tower, the lighter grey ramp is in front of the Scenic Airways ramp behind which is the Vision Air one.
