Built 1937. Delivered to USAAC on 23 Mar 39 as C-40A 38-545. Regd VH-HID 16 Sep 1987. Sold to Australian Aircraft Sales Feb 89 & used by several operators including John Love at Albury Sep 98. Put in storage at Broken Hill Oct 98. Acquired by Doug Hamilton 9 Aug 07 following the passing of John Conley. Made airworthy and flown to Albury for restoration. Seen here arriving at the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's National Fly-in.

This aircraft has an interesting history: registered as a J.5P Autocar, it is clearly not one! It was built as a J.5L Aiglet Trainer (short, aerobatic wings; 145 hp Gipsy Major 10) for agents KSAS and shipped, engineless to Australia. Registered VH-BYW 20 September 1955. Type changed to J.5R Alpine on 7 Oct 1966 following fitting of longer-span, ex-Autocar wings. Somehow this changed to J.5P on the Register! Currently based at Moorabbin & seen here at the Antique Aeroplane Assoc. of Aust's National Fly-in

A new sight in Australian skies! This Aiglet Trainer, an aerobatic Auster variant, was initially registered G-AMTE on 24 May 52 to Airways Aero Associations of Brentford, Middx. First production test flight on 26 Sept 52. Suffered numerous accidents in the hands of various owners until exported to Australia in 1978. Registered as VH-WKY on 24 Feb 81 but never held a CofA. After passing through several hands and a loooooong restoration it first flew on 23 April 09. Seen here at the AAAA National Fly-in.

Beautiful and rare: originally delivered to the RAAF in the second batch of Cadets during 1938-9. Initially served with 1FTS, Point Cook, but moved to Camden with CFS in 1941. Disposed of after the war, becoming VH-AGH on 16 July 1945 & eventually ending up in the hands of Sid Marshall at Bankstown. SOR 6 June 1951. Beautifully restored, ff April 2008. Seen here, fittingly, on Anzac Day at the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's National Fly-in.

Stunning artwork on 'Merlin', Jim and Jenny Wickham's second FEW P-51 replica. After completing their first example, VH-MRS 'Bald Eagle', Jim and Jenny bought this aircraft partially completed and finished it off. Registered on 12 September 2008 and made its first flight shortly thereafter. Seen here at the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's National Fly-in.
