This is actually the third Control Tower to have been built at Essendon Airport. Constructed as a 'temporary' Tower in time for the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, it's still going strong today! It was however, finally scheduled for replacement a couple of years later.

This LongRanger is normally used on fire-fighting duties, but seen here being towed to the hangars at Essendon.

This aircraft, which operates as 'Nemo 4', is the fourth of five Dornier 328s to be commissioned as dedicated Search and Rescue aircraft (the others are at Darwin, Perth, Cairns and Brisbane). The aircraft is operated by Aerorescue Pty. Ltd., a subsidiary of the Paspaley group, on behalf of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.

This aircraft is opeated by Aeromil Pacific, the local Citation agents. Whilst clients are awaiting delivery of their own aircraft, Aeromil loans them N9NL.
