This one-oh-four was built by Fiat Aviazione/Aeritalia as F-104S. The aircraft served the Aeronautica Militare between early 1977 and mid 1995. It was noted withdrawn from use at Grosseto from July 1995. The Starfighter was last noted at the dump of Cervia in mid 2004.

This Starfighter was built by Fiat Aviazione/Aeritalia as F-104S and started its operational career with 4°Stormo, it also served 5°Stormo (as pictured) and 36°Stormo. With the latter it crashed on 18 March 1986 after a loss of electrical systems and an engine flame out during a test flight. The pilot ejected safely, but the Starfighter came down in the village of Argentina between Riccione and Morciano (Italy). Sadly, debris resulted in two civilian killed and multiple wounded.

Delivered to Malaysia Airlines in October 1993 and painted in Hibiscus livery between January 2005 - April 2008. Leased to Alwafeer Air between October 2009 - September 2011 as HZ-AWA3. Withdrawn from use in December 2011. To Eaglexpress Air in August 2012. Leased to Nas Air between January - December 2013 and to Saudi Arabian between December 2013 - January 2016. Withdrawn from use and stored at Kuala Lumpur in January 2016. Broken up there in November 2021.

Delivered to British Airways in April 2007.

Back to the lessor (GECAS) in June 2020 as N216RH and converted to cargo. To Sun Country in October 2020 as N8059A, operating for Amazon Prime Air.
