The Type 510 was a development of the straight-wing Attacker and was one of the prototypes that led eventually to the Supermarine Swift. The 510 became the first British aircraft to have both swept wings and a swept tailplane and also had the distinction of becoming the first swept-wing aircraft to take off and land from an aircraft carrier. This aircraft's flying career ended in 1955 and it was transferred as an instructional airframe to the RAF. Now in the FAAM Reserve Collection at Cobham Hall.
