The Air Yacht was a trimotor airliner first flown by the Bach company from Los Angeles in 1927 or 1928. It had one main and two auxiliary engines, in this case one P&W Hornet and two Comet 7-RAs. Pickwick Stage Lines were a major bus operator in California, and The Pickwick Co tried an airline for a year from March 1929. Its most profitable route turned out to be one bringing gamblers and drinkers to the 'vast and spectacular ' Agua Caliente casino resort near Tiujana, Mexico. Apparently NC302E had an accident in mid-1929 and was lost in a hangar fire at the factory while under repair. Photo from: Ingenium
