The original Alouette, the SE.3120, was powered by a Salmson piston engine and first flew on 31 July 1951. It was eventually given up in favour of the turbine-powered SE.3130 Alouette II. This is the second of the two prototypes, wearing the Sud-Est logo. The photo was likely taken at Buc near Versailles, where test flying took place, and probably well before the given end date 1957.
