This Ka-26 was was originally delivered to the Leningrad directorate of Aeroflot in October 1976. It was badly damaged in the Kalevala region in August 1981 after overturning during lift-off due to a strong tail wind, although eventually repaired and then re-registered RA-24349 to start flying with Petrozavodsk AE. The frame was life-expired by April 1997 and is now preserved in a private garden in Staffas (Sipoo municipality). The paint has faded so much that the original Soviet reg. has become visible.
