Airworthy Bearcat at Planes of Fame Air Museum. This aircraft was rebuilt around the 1947 G-58A, a civilianized F8F flown by Maj. Alford Williams of Gulf Oil Corp. In continuation of his earlier aircraft, he named it "Gulfhawk IV" that wore an orange and white livery. It was heavily damaged by him in a landing accident in Jan 1949, later reconstructed from parts taken from other Bearcats. This aircraft represents a '-2' as flown by CVG-11, the type being armed with 20-mm cannon. A 12'7" Aeroproducts H20-G-11M5 constant speed propeller is attached to the R-2800-30W Double Wasp engine.
