Former East German AF 169 was last operated by JG 1 at Holzdorf. This is one of few German MiG-21s receiving a German serial including the cross, indicating she was flown in German service. Due to diminishing tensions in Europe and incompatibility with Nato, the MiG-21 was not adopted in German service. 23+52 was scrapped at Dresden in November 1992.
