Only 147 Brigands were built. Intended as a replacement of the Beaufighter after World War II, the type was modified as a light bomber. This example served with 84 Squadron. It is probably seen here at Bahrain or Sharjah en route to the far east. It was destroyed on 19th June 1951 at RAF Tengah, Singapore, when it crashed on approach following an engine failure which lead to the grounding of the type. The Pilot bailed out and survived, but the navigator was killed This photo is copyright © K.J. Cumine, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
