The third prototype of the original production version, manufactured by Canadair Limited in Montreal in 1979. Between 1981 and 1982, it was modified to become the prototype of the second production version, the Challenger 601. Between 1993 and 1994, this airframe was converted for use as a prototype for the third production version, the Challenger 604. Last time it was modified between 1999 and 2004 to gain experience in the design of fly-by-wire control systems. Donated to the Museum in 2005. It is the second oldest Challenger in existence.
