The first engine-powered ornithopter to achieve sustained flight. Built in the late 1990s at the University of Toronto Institute of Aeronautical Studies (UTIAS). On 8 July 2006, it took off under its own power, making a flight of around 300 metres that lasted 14 seconds, after which it crashed. It required the assistance of a jet engine to take off, and its flapping wings were driven by an 18 kW (24 HP) gasoline engine.
