Based on the Tu-95 bomber, the Tu-114 was developed as a long range passenger aircraft. At the time, it was the largest and fastest passenger plane, and also with the longest range. Eventually, 32 aircraft were built of which few still exist today. Seen here is the first prototype of the Tu-114, which arrived in Monino for display on 16 March 1972.
