When the Swedish Air Force was created in 1926, this type became its first fighter (J1), having been acquired by the army from 1919. Serial 947 was one of the first purchased from Austria for the army, ahead of license-construction in Sweden. It was retired in 1928 and given to the car of the flight historical collection at Malmen, which evolved into the Flygvapenmuseum.
