The only example of a Macchi M7 preserved in the world, the type was developed in Italy during WW I and used for naval operations. After the war, in 1921, four used examples were delivered to Sweden and served near Linköping from lake Roxen en near Karlsborg from lake Vättern. They were kept in tent hangars, which resulted in the wooden hull never being fully dry. Rot arose and all four were disposed in 1923-1924.
