"Mosquito" on static display at the Boeing Plaza at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2025. This was one of several aircraft displayed to mark the 75th anniversary of the Korean War, in which unarmed LT-6Gs modified from the T-6G flew "mosquito missions" as airborne FACs to mark enemy positions with 2.25-in smoke rockets. Primarily flown by 6147th Tactical Control Group, the type was highly effective in causing vast destruction of troops, tanks, artillery and vehicles. This aircraft was taken on charge by the USAF with s/n 49-3141. This photo is copyright © Arjun Sarup, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
