In the 1970s and '80s, this old Convair was operated by Texas Instruments as an avionics development aircraft. In 1991, they donated it to Ed Maloney's Planes of Fame Air Museum at Chino (CA), where in the early 2000s it was repainted in this attractive Western Air Lines livery. In the 1950s the aircraft did fly for Western, but as N8408H - not as N240HH. The museum restored the Convair to flying condition, and on 1 May 2008 it was flown from Chino to the museum's second site at Valle Airport, where it has remained ever since.
