Delivered to the Central Flying School at RAF Shawbury in March 1962, this Whirlwind moved over to 22 Sqdn for ASR duties during 1965, next transferring to RAF Benson in 1969 for VIP and communications work, where it carried the VIP blue/white/grey colour scheme. After becoming a station hack at Shawbury in 1976 it was retired from service in 1979, arriving at Norwich the following year for display having been given the civil registration G-BEBC This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
