The SAAF introduced the King Air as a communications aircraft in the early 1980s. Initially they were operated by 21 Sqd on civilian register offering extra discretion when operating to civilian airfields and outside the RSA. The stripes are the same as seen on SAAF DH.125s from the same period. ZS-LNT was delivered in September 1983 and became 654 in October 1995 and later re-registered 650.
